Day 1: Delhi

Morning combined sightseeing tour of New & Old Delhi.

NEW DELHI: This city designed and built by the British in the 1920's - a city of wide boulevards impressive Government buildings, green parks and gardens. You will visit the Qutub Minar. Drive along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate and Parliament House.

OLD DELHI: An ancient walled city. Here you will see Red Fort, the most opulent Fort and Palace of the Mughal Empire: Raj Ghat, the memorial site of the Mahatma Gandhi; Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India; and Chandni Chowk, the bustling and colourful market of the old city.

Leave Delhi for Agra by surface, on arrival check-in at HOTEL.

Day 3: Agra / Fatehpur / Jaipur (232 kms - 5 hrs & 30 min approx)
Morning city tour of Agra.
Taj Mahal, Agra

AGRA CITY - is the medieval city of the famous 17th century masterpiece Taj Mahal, which of course is the most splendid of all buildings - perhaps the most perfect architectural monument in the world. It was built in the memory of the beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal of one of the greatest kings Shah Jehan of the Mughal Empire - Agra is not only famous for Taj Mahal but the impressive Mughal Red Fort known as the Agra Fort. The story of the Mughal Empire in stone. Built by Emperor Akbar and successively enriched with places and marble pavilions. (TAJ MAHAL CLOSED ON FRIDAY)

Leave Agra for Jaipur by surface, enroute visit FATEHPUR SIKRI - A fascinating ghost town, lies a little beyond Agra the deserted Red sandstone city that was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital. It was a veritable fairy tale city and its ruins are still in a pristine condition. It is not hard to imagine what the court life must have been like in the days of its grandeur. Set like a jewel in a courtyard of pink sandstone is the marble tomb of the Saint Salim Chisti, enclosed by delicately carved marble screens.

After the visit continue your drive, on arrival check-in at HOTEL.

Day 4: Jaipur
Morning visit Amber Fort + Elephant ride.

Jantar Mantar, Jaipur

AMBER FORT: 11 kms from Jaipur - A marvelous example of Rajput architecture with its terraces and ramparts reflected in the Maota Lake below. The magnificent old citadel, a labyrinth of massive walls and towers, shrouds an exquisite marble palace, pillared and carved glimmering with a million tiny mirrors, which create tantalising reflection effect. The ascent to the fort is on gaily caparisoned elephants.

Afternoon city tour of Jaipur.

JAIPUR CITY: City Palace Museum - an imposing blend of traditional Rajasthani and Mughal art. The Museum is resplendent with its collection of robes of royal princes, carpets, an armoury of old weapons, miniature paintings portraying court scenes, battle scenes and procession, Jantar Mantar (Observatory) - an accurate Observatory built in 1726 AD : Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - a five storeyed wonder with a spectacular pyramidal facade and overhanging windows with latticed screens, domes and spires.

Day 5: Jaipur - Delhi (258 Kms / 5.30 hrs)
Leave Jaipur for Delhi by surface, on arrival drop at city (no accommodation envisaged)

Day 6: Delhi - Abroad
Transfer to International airport in time to connect your onward flight.

Taj Mahal, Agra

Day 1: Delhi - Agra (203 kms. 4 hrs. 30 min. approx.)
Agra the zenith of art and an enshrined romance. It is a town that lives mainly in the past. Once the seat of the Mughal rulers. Their passion for building endowed it with some of the loveliest buildings in the world - the Taj Mahal a poem in white marble which took 22 years to build by 20,000 skilled artisans who inlaid the white marble edifice with precious and semi precious stones. The Agra Fort from where one can get the most moving view of the Taj from the little octagonal tower in the Agra Fort which lies across the river Jamuna.

0630 to 1245 hours
Drive to Agra through the Indian country side. Upon arrival proceed to the Taj Mahal to see the architectural modern day wonder of the world, the incomparable Taj Mahal. This monument is a fine example of the fusion of many architectural styles and is one of the wonders of the modern world. Built in 1652 by Emperor Shah Jahan.

1300 to 1400 hours
Proceed to Hotel Trident in Agra where a sumptuous buffet lunch awaits you.

1400 to 1500 hours
1400 to 1500 hours After lunch visit the Agra Fort built in red sandstone with its magnificent palaces, halls of public and private audience and the beautiful gardens. This is where Emperor Shah Jahan was kept under house arrest by his third son Aurangzeb and spent the last year of his life viewing the Taj Mahal from across the river Jamuna.

1500 to 1530 hours
Visit to a marble factory to see the beautiful inlay of precious and semi precious stones into the marble.

1600 to 1630 hours
Finally before driving back to Delhi, one can make a brief visit to Sikandra the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Akbar, a magnificent garden tomb. Return to Delhi around 2130 hours stopping midway for refreshments.
